SAINT-GEORGES-EN-COUZAN

Département : Loire

Blason de Saint-Georges-en-Couzan

Official blason

De sinople au pont d'argent maçonné de sable, accompagné en chef de trois roues de moulin d'or, mal ordonnées et en pointe d'un dragon d'or, armé et lampassé de gueules, transpercé d'une épée versée d'or.

Origin/meaning

The arms show the slain dragon as a symbol for St. George. The bridge is the local Pont du Diable (Devil's bridge) and the water mill wheels refer to the former importance of the water mills for the local economy and development.
