SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM

State : Salzburg
District : Zell am See

Wappen von Saalbach-Hinterglemm/Arms (crest) of Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 1, 1975.

The wavy bar is canting for the Saalbach river. The silver balls symbolise St. Nicholas, one of the two patron saints of the town. The three balls are actually stones, and play a role in one of the miracles of St. Nicholas.

The crossed skis and the snowflake symbolise the fact that the town is a famous winter sports resort.
