Escudo de vermelho, dois cachos de uvas de ouro, folhados de prata; em chefe Agnus Dei de prata com lábaro e, movente de contra-chefe, um monte de três cômoros de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ SÃO JOÃO DOS MONTES “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 19, 1998.

The Agnus Dei (Paschal Lamb, symbol of St. John, São João) and the mountains are canting elements. The grapes refer to the viticulture in the parish.
