ROUGSØ

Region : Midtjylland
Amt (until 2007) : Århus
Additions : 1970 Gjesing-Nørager, Holbæk-Udby, Vivild-Vejlby, Voer-Estruplund, Ørsted

Coat of arms (crest) of Rougsø

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially registered in 1980.

The arms show bordure with a rope and a scallop. The rope design is taken from the baptismal font in the local church, dating from medieval times. The rope also is a symbol of strength after the unifications in 1970. The scallop refers to the coastal area of the municipality.
