Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 10, 2001.

The upper part shows the gate of the local romanic Church of St> Christopher, dating from the 12th century and a national monument. It also refers to the former monastery in the parish.

The hoes represent agriculture and the base symbolises the Rio Este river in the parish.
