RINER

Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Escudo de Riner

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'argent, un castell de porpra obert acompanyat a la punta d'una faixa ondada de sable. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 12th March 1994.

The arms show the local medieval castle (at present day, one impressing tower of it stands besides the church) and a wavy bar Sable, a canting element: Riner comes from Catalan "riu negre", that's to say a black river.
