Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
RIEFENSBERG
State : Vorarlberg
District : Bregenz
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 15, 1948.
The hunting horn refers to the fact that the area was historically a hunting area for the Counts of Montfort. The horn also refers to the name of the locals when the local parish was established in 1426, the 'Kilchgenossen an dem Jagbach'(Jagbach means hunting-river).
The base shows a canting mountain (berg).
