Official blazon

Von Silber und Rot gespalten, vorne ein schwarzer, gold gekrönter, linksgewendeter Löwe, hinten ein goldenes sechsspeichiges Rad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 25, 1971.

The arms are based on the arms of the two former cities Rheda and Wiedenbrück. The lion is taken from the arms of Rheda, the wheel from Wiedenbrück.
