REKEN

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Borken
Additions : 1970 Groß Reken, Hülsten, Klein Reken

Wappen von Reken/Arms (crest) of Reken
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1965 to Groß Reken and to Reken on January 16, 1970.

The lower part shows part of the church in Reken, with the typical architecture. The holly branch is a symbol for the woods in the area and is also canting for the village of Hülsten (holly = Hüls in the local dialect, hulst in Dutch, Stechpalme in German).

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
