The arms show a city gate and a wavy base for the -bach (brook, stream) part of the name. The gate is closed to indicate that the city was not conquered during the Hussite Wars. The small shield shows the arms of the Lords von Gersdorf (see [[File:396a.wsa.jpg|60 px]]), who ruled the city between 1380-19th century, with only a few interruptions. | |||

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 20, 1900.
The arms show a city gate and a wavy base for the -bach (brook, stream) part of the name. The gate is closed to indicate that the city was not conquered during the Hussite Wars. The small shield shows the arms of the Lords von Gersdorf (see 
), who ruled the city between 1380-19th century, with only a few interruptions.
