Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 29, 1955.

The oldest seal is known since 1417, but dates from the late 14th century. The seal already showed the local patron saint, St. Margareth, with the dragon. On seals from 1516 until the 17th century only the dragon appeared. Later seals and images show again the saint. In 1955 the arms were officially granted and the colours finally properly described.
