Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Escudo de Puigdàlber

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'argent, un mont de sinople movent de la punta, somat d'una creu llatina patent de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 30th January 1997.

The traditional arms of the village show a mount with a cross on top; the mount is a canting element: the name Puigdàlber means literally in Catalan "poplar hill". The cross is maybe an allusion to St. Andrew, the local patron saint, normally represented in heraldry by a saltire. Puigdàlber is the smallest municipality in Catalonia (0,4 km2).
