Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 11, 2019. Before 2019 the town simply used the Bohemian lion in its arms, which were granted at the same day as the city rights, on August 18, 1711.

The city rights and arms were granted by Emperor Charles VI to the city on request of the ruler of the town at the time, Ferdinan Rziĉansky.

To avoid confusion with many other arms using the Bohemian lion, the arms were changed in 2019.
