Escut caironat: faixat d'argent i de gules de 6 peces; ressaltant sobre el tot un castell de sinople obert somat d'un bàcul d'abat d'atzur posat en pal. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 14th July 1983.

The local castle (shown in the arms) belonged originally to the family Porqueres - Santa Pau, whose arms are shown too: barry Argent and Gules. It was sold to the monastery of Banyoles in 1251, symbolized here by an abbot staff above the castle.
