PINELANDS HIGH SCHOOL

Country: South Africa

Coat of arms (crest) of Pinelands High School

Official blazon

Argent, a chevron gules charged with three annulets or between three pine trees proper; upon a chief azure an open book argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms are not officially granted.

The gold annulets on red are taken from the Van Riebeeck arms. Van Riebeeck’s annulets are commonly used in coats of arms to indicate “South Africanness”.The trees represent the VOC’s “forest” on which Pinelands was built, and the book represents learning.
