Administrative division
Paraguay is divided into seventeen departments and one capital district. The departments are further divided into 129 districts, which in turn are divided into municipalities.
Heraldry
Paraguay does not use a coat of arms, but the above symbol or logo.
Only very few departements and municipalities use truly heraldic coats of arms. Most use some kind of emblem or logo (often incorrectly referred to as coats of arms). In several cases these emblems have been added to this site.
