PANROD

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Rheingau-Taunus Kreis (until 1973 Untertaunuskreis)
Incorporated into : 1971 Aarbergen

Wappen von Panrod/Arms (crest) of Panrod

Origin/meaning

The above arms were proposed in 1956.

The only known historical seal of the village dates from 1603 and is only known from the 17th century. The seal showed the local patron saint, St. Mary, sitting on a throne. The above proposal changed this image to her symbol, two lilies, and a crown to distinguish the arms with other arms with St. Mary. The colours are those of Nassau, as the village belonged to Nassau for many centuries.

I have no information whether these arms were actually used or granted.
