Wappen von Pankow/Arms (crest) of Pankow
Official blazon
German blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

Pankow was first mentioned in 1311 and became a possession of the city of Berlin in 1370. It remained a small village until the late 19th century. In the early 20th century it became a suburb and in 1920 part of Berlin. The arms are based on the single seal of Pankow, dating from the middle of the 19th century. It shows typical symbols of agriculture, the main economic activity at the time.
