Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 21th April 1983.
The local castle was the centre of a barony since the 9th century, ruled by the Palafolls family, whose arms the village has taken (barry Gules and Argent, this one powdered with crosslets Azure). They show too the baron's crown.
