PADERBORN (PB)
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Origin/meaningThe new arms were granted on July 15, 1975. The new arms combine the old arms with the lower part derived from the arms of the former district of Büren.
The old arms were granted on June 30, 1947. The lower part of the arms symbolise the Alme and Pader river that run through the district. The cross in the chief is the cross of the diocese and State of Paderborn, the district was the centre of the State for many centuries.
