In Blau ein rotgekrönter goldener Löwe mit roter Zunge und Bewehrung. Origin/meaningThe arms were never officially granted, but have been in use since 1324. The arms show the lion of the counts of Schwarzburg, as the city became a possession of Count Heinrich von Schwarzburg in 1324.
