===Origin/meaning===
The wavy pales symbolise the Woleu and the Nyé rivers. The green colour refers to the forests in the area. The main crop is coffee, which is symbolised by the red colour and disks (red coffee cherries) and the silver (white coffee flowers).
The gold alludes to cocoa, of which Oyem is one of the marketing centers, and the green to the forest. The gold forming the triangle represents the geographical location of Oyem on a plateau cut with depressions. The eagle’s head, borrowed from the German coat of arms, recalls the work of the Germans in this center at the beginning of the 20th century. Oyem was founded by the French and was later developed and expanded by the Germans.

Origin/meaning

The gold alludes to cocoa, of which Oyem is one of the marketing centers, and the green to the forest. The gold forming the triangle represents the geographical location of Oyem on a plateau cut with depressions. The eagle’s head, borrowed from the German coat of arms, recalls the work of the Germans in this center at the beginning of the 20th century. Oyem was founded by the French and was later developed and expanded by the Germans.
