Ecartelé au 1 d'or à la fasce d'azur, au 2 d'azrr à la bande d'or accompagnée de deux colombes d'argent becquées et membrées de gueules, à la bordure du second chargée de huit taus du premier, au 3 d'azur à la croix d'or cantonnée de quatre coquilles du même, au 4 d'or à trois coqs de gueules.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 18, 1991.

The arms are a combination of elements from the arms of families that ruled parts of the municipality.

The first quarter shows the arms of the Spangen family, Lords of Ottignies from 1602-1731. These were also used by the former municipality Ottignies.
The second quarter shows the arms of the Coloma family, last Lords of Céroux. The third the arms of Anne-Josèphe de la Croix, Abbess of the Florival abbey, who owned theland where is now the town of Louvain-la-Neuve.
The fourth shows the old arms of Limelette.
