Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 12, 1930.

The bull in the arms symbolises the important cattle market in Scharmbeck. The spindles symbolise the importance of the textile industry in the city. The waves in the base of the arms show the Scharmbecker Bach that runs through the town.
