Origin/meaning

The arms have been officially granted on 22th September 1983.

The arms of Olost show different elements of the village's history: the parish church of Santa Maria (dating back to the 10th century), the lion Gules on Argent taken from the arms of the Peguera family (lords of the local castle since 1230) and the royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or), that symbolize the jurisdiction of the counts-kings.
