OLLON

Canton : Vaud

Armoiries de Ollon

Official blazon

Ecartelé de sinople et de gueules, à la croix alésée d'argent brochante.

Origin/meaning

Appearing as early as the 17th century, these arms originally bore the trefoil cross of St. Maurice, recalling that this abbey possessed an important part of the commune, where the abbot retained his rights until 1636 and his fief until the Revolution (1789). The current cross replaced the trefoil cross in the 18th century.
