Odense-amt.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted in 1937.

The rose in the arms stands for the fact that Odense is in the middle of Denmark, and that the island of Fyn is the "garden of Denmark".

The three crowns indicate that Odense was an important seat of the Danish court during the centuries.

The following herreds were part of Odense Amt :

  1. Bjerge
  2. Båg
  3. Lunde
  4. Odense
  5. Skam
  6. Skovby
  7. Vends
  8. Åsum

Literature : Achen, 1982
