Official blazon

In Silber auf grünem Rasenboden eine bewurzelte grüne Fichte.

Origin/meaning

The arms show a canting tree (Fiche = Spruce). The tree already appeared on the oldest seal of the town, known from around 1400, but probably dating from 1337. All later seals show the spruce, in the oldest seal it bears fruit, in the 16th century it was shown with all the roots, only in the 19th century the tree was planted. The present arms show the tree planted with roots visible.

Hupp showed in the 1920s the arms in a slightly different composition:

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
