OBERSCHLEISSHEIM

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : München

Wappen von Oberschleissheim

Official blazon

Geteilt; oben in Rot das goldene Monogramm des Kurfürsten Max Emanuel, unten die bayerischen Rauten.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 10, 1925 and show in the lower part the arms of Bayern, as the village for a long time was a possession of the Kings of Bayern, who often stayed in the village since Wilhelm V built a summer castle in 1597. In 1626 Maximilian I built the first castle in the village, and Max Emmanuel built in 1684 the Lustheim estate and from 1701 the Schleissheim castle. The upper part of the arms shows the initial of the latter.
