French D'azur à la cotice dentelée en haut d'argent accompagnée de deux tarpons du même, celui de la pointe contourné, au chef ondé d'or chargé d'un lion léopardé de gueules, armé et lampassé d'azur.

Origin/meaning

The azure field of the coat of arms symbolises the maritime character of the region; the wavy partition symbolizes the Nyanga river. The sea is also represented by tarpon, which are very popular with fishermen; the savannah is symbolised by the gold chief; the forest and its exploitation are symbolised by the saw.

The lion in chief representd the guarding of the border with Congo.
