NORDERSTEDT
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Segeberg
Additions : 1970 Friedrichsgabe, Garstedt, Glashütte, Harksheide
German |
Geviert von Blau und Silber mit rotem Mittelschild, darin ein achtstrahliger silberner Stern, dessen oberster Strahl mit einer silbernen Lilie besteckt ist. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 17, 1974.
The quartering of the arms symbolises the four former municipalities that merged to form Norderstedt. The star symbolises the new city and prosperous future. Together with the fleur-de-lis it forms a compass, pointing north, making it a canting symbol (Nord=north).
