Official blazon
- (de) Schildhaupt geteilt. Im oberen goldenen Schildteil ein wachsender, schwarzer, rot bewehrter Doppelkopfadler. Im unteren blauen Schildteil ein schräg rechts gewendetes, silbernes, goldgegrifftes Schwert.
Origin/meaning
The upper part shows a double-headed eagle, symbol for the St. Maximinus Abbey in Trier. According to a (falsified) document was the chapel in Noyn granted to the St. Maximinus Abbey in 970. even though it is a fake legend, it was still mentioned as the oldest source of the name in 1759.
The lower half shows a sword as a symbol for St. Martin of Tours, the local patron saint of the forementioned chapel and current parish.
