Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 4, 1974.

The upper half of the arms shows a grape vine and wheat ears, symbolising the agricultural character of the village. The colours are those of Nassau, as the village became part of Nassau in 1802. The fleur-de-lis is taken from the oldest, probably 17th century, seal of the village, which only showed such a fleur-de-lis. The meaning is not known. The colours are those of the Counts of Katzenelnbogen, who rule dthe village from 1185-1479.

In the 1950s it was proposed to use only the fleur-de-lis as arms for the village :

Wappen von Nochern/Arms (crest) of Nochern
Wappen von Nochern/Coat of arms (crest) of Nochern
