Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1906.

The oldest use of the arms dates from 1584 when it appears on the seal of the sheriff and council of Nimburg. On a document from 1620 another seal is connected, but with similar arms. This seal has been used until the late 18th century. In the 19th century only the arms of Baden were used, but around 1880 the village used a new seal, again with the old arms. As no colours were known for the acorns, it was decided to use green as the most natural colour.

The bend is the arms of Baden, as the village historically belonged to Baden. The three acorns are the old village symbol, and are so designated in 1789 when, after a border dispute, new borderstones with the symbols of Nimburg and Holzhausen were placed.
