NIENHAGEN
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Göttingen
Incorporated into : 1973 Staufenberg
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The village was for a long time renowned for its pottery, especially double (or twin) pots as shown in the arms. The lower half shows a wolf's hook, which symbolises in the arms the importance of the nearby forest to the village, especially for the wood for the potteries.
