Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 14, 1974.

The arms show in the upper left half the crest (dog) of the Markgraves of Nürnberg form the Hohenzollern dynasty. The quartered arms of the Markgraves was part of the old Neustadt an der Aisch district arms. The eagle is taken from the arms of Uffenheim, the pales from the arms of Scheinfeld.
