District (Kreis) : Viersen (until 1974 Kempen-Krefeld)
Additions : 1970 Breyell, Hinsbeck, Kaldenkirchen, Leuth, Lobberich
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on April 8, 1971.
The arms of the former municipalities could not be combined, so new arms were devised. The arms indicate the nature (water, waterlily) which surrounds the city.
