NESTELBACH IN ILZTAL

State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg-Fürstenfeld (until 2015 Fürstenfeld)
Incorporated into : 2015 Ilz

Wappen von Nestelbach im Ilztal

Official blazon

Von Gold und Grün im Wellenschnitt geteilt, oben fünf (3:2) schwarze Pflugscharen, unten gestürzt drei blühende goldene Nesseln.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 30, 1989.

The arms are partly canting - the nettles allude to the name of the municipality. The partition wavy illustrates the brook which waters the Ilztal. The five ploughshares hint at the five municipalities that merged into Nestelbach in Ilztal as well as at the long tradition of agriculture in this region.
