District (Kreis) : Alb-Donau Kreis
Additions : 1975 Oppingen

Wappen von Nellingen

Official blazon

(de) In Gold ein aufrecht sitzender, rot bezungter schwarzer Bär.

Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1918 and continued in 1980.

There are no historical seals or arms known for the village. The arms were designed in 1918 and are derived from the arms of the Lords of Nellingen, who ruled the village from the 12th until the 15th century. The bear is derived from the arms of the Lords of Bernstadt (bear-city) from which the Lords of Nellingen descended.
