Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1973.

The arms show a trout, which is common in the main river in the community, the Narsaq Elv, which runs just West of the village. The Greenlandic name for the trout, Equaluit, is also the name of a small settlement in the municipality.
