NAMSSKOGAN

Province : Trøndelag (until 2018 Nord-Trøndelag)

Arms of Namsskogan
Official blazon
Norwegian

I svart et gull elggevir.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 21, 1984.

The arms show an elk's antler. The municipality is heavily forested and many elk can be found in the area. The arms are based on a very large antler, with a rare golden colour, which hangs on the community hall.
