Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 21, 1968, but initially already in 1715.

The city was the capital of a small Moorish Kingdom and was taken by Alfonso X of Castille and Leon in 1263. The arms were granted in 1715 and show 5 crowns for the old Kingdom and the bordure of Castille and Leon. I have no information on the meaning of the heart.
