Armoiries de Mur

Official blazon

Coupé de sable et de sinople, à la fasce crénelée d'argent brochante, maçonnée de sable.

Origin/meaning

The arms were probably designed in 1915 when the arms of the four municipalities in the Montet-Cudrefin parish were included in a new glass-stained window of the parish church.

The wall (mur) is a canting symbol. The colours indicate that the municipality is on the border of the Fribourg (black/white) and Vaud (green/white) cantons.
