Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 10, 1995.

The three flowers symbolise the two former districts, as well as the municipalities from other districts that were combined to the new district. The silver chevron symbolises the Freiberger and Zwickauer Mulde streams, that form the Mulde river. The green colour symbolises the forests in the district.
