MÜGGELHEIM

State : Berlin
Incorporated into : 1920 Berlin

Muggelhe.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were designed in 1947.

The shield with the Berlin arms indicates that the area is part of the city of Berlin. The grapes indicate that in previous centuries people from the Pfalz region settled in the area and tried to start viticulture in Müggelheim. This never worked out though. The wheat ears symbolise the former agricultural character of the area. The fish in the base symbolises the rich fishing in the lakes and small streams in the region.
