MÖNICHWALD

State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg

Monichwald.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 13, 1963.

The arms are canting: A Mönch (monk) wandering through a Wald (forest). The Bavarian monastery of Vornbach owned the lands that now make up the municipality. The same coat of arms was used by the monastery from 1663 onwards. The municipality decided not to change the arms.
