Official blazon

I sølv en oppreist svart hest med hodet vendt bakover.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 11, 1987.

The arms show a local breed of sturdy horses, the Lygshest. The horse also represents the agriculture in the area and the silver field represents the sea and fish.
