Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1586.

The background of the arms is the arms of the Wittelsbach family, who were the Counts of the Pfalz. The tower is probably the castle built by the Lords of Lupburg, who ruled the town until 1313.

Wappen von Lupburg

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
