Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 21, 1993.

The eagle represents victory of the first inhabitants against all hardships of the beginning of colonisation and the wavy bar symbolises the many rivers in the municipality. The quinquefoils symbolise 'dear daughter' and evoke Lourdes de Oliveira, daughter of the owner of the lands and donor of all the area now occupied by the city.

The shield is flanked by cotton and tomato branches, the main crops in the region.
