Official blazon

In Rot ein silbernes Torhaus mit geschlossenem roten Tor und spitzbedachtem Dachreiter; auf dem Dach beiderseits ein schwarz-silbernes Fähnchen.

Origin/meaning

When Leutershausen received city rights is not known, but it was mentioned as a city in the last part of the 14^th century. The oldest seal dates from the same time and shows a building, which looks like a palace. Later seals all show some building, which differed widely in size and shape. The building may be a canting element (Haus=house). The above composition dates from the 17^th century and also appeared on the mayor's chain from 1819. The two banners are the banners of the Hohenzollern family, as Dukes of Brandenburg-Ansbach.
